Wyze Cams showing up in MQTT #1380

Hello all,

I seem to be having an issue where my Wyze cams are showing up inside MQTT automatically without me adding them into MQTT. I never used MQTT before but installed it when I started using Zigbee2MQTT, and afterwards, the cams would show up inside MQTT.

The problem is that every time I removed the cams and then have to reboot Home Assistant for any reason, the Wyze cams would always show back up in MQTT. I can't seem to find a way to stop them from showing up inside MQTT.

I asked the HA community and they said something about MQTT retaining the last state of the device in its database, or that maybe Docker Wyze Bridge is publishing messages and MQTT is auto discovering them.

Anywho, is there a way to prevent the Wyze cams from getting automatically readded inside MQTT? I want to keep MQTT clean and show only the Zigbee devices that I'm adding to it. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance :)

@aquariuz23 I have never seen Wyze cameras show up in the MQTT integration. When I look at the services running on my Wyze Docker Bridge, I don't see a MQTT port.

@aquariuz23 update. I have figured out the MQTT integration from the container side into HA from the Wyze_Bridge. Its very similar to any other MQTT integration. Let me know if you still need assistance, I'm sure I can help at this point.

Hi @dmkjr, yes I am still in need of assistance. While I've chosen to ignore it for now, I'd still prefer to get rid of those Wyze cam devices from my MQTT, so any assistance is appreciated. Thank you in advance :)

@aquariuz23 so I had the reverse issue. I was not ingesting things in MQTT. Are you running the Wyze Bridge in Docker mode? Can you paste your configuration here?

Have you tried turning MQTT off (or on for @dmkjr) in WyzeBridge?
You may need to enable “Show Unused Options”, I don’t remember if it’s in the main section or not.
Also, If you have Motion detection turned on in WyzeBridge, try turning it off as I believe that can use MQTT.
When using WyzeBridge as a Home Assistant AddOn there is no host or auth data needed for MQTT. There’s also a filter to include/block cameras from MQTT that’s useful but pay attention to whether the Invert Filter toggle is set.
