I am using it at the moment:

And I use Wayland on KDE:

$ echo $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
KDE wayland

And it works just fine, after adding https://github.com/dkondor/cairo-dock-plug-ins for effects as well.
