Track wp-admin metrics

None of the wp-admin requests show up in GA, presumably because our GA tracking code is only installed on the theme.

Tracking wp-admin metrics will give us information about how authors and admins are using the site.

ping @robnyman - if we tracked wp-admin requests we could start tracking posts published via message=6 in wp-admin url's. But should we look at some WP metrics plugins for historical data too?

Yeah, getting GA in place for future reference would be great. And definitely, getting some good data over time and to show the trends for what has already taken place would be very interesting as well.

What if we implement the GA code to WordPress core ?

That's possible, but if we put the GA tag in - e.g., admin-footer.php - it would be over-written next time we upgrade WordPress. :(

I found a plugin that will add GA code to backend as well as frontend. It has options to active the backend code on some specific user roles too.
"Google Analytics Dashboard for WP". May be this will work !
