The hybrid meetup platform requires a well-designed chat component to facilitate communication between participants in various scenarios. The UI design of the chat should consider the different states based on the meeting type, whether it is a remote (during a call) or in-person meetup.

The following chat states need to be designed:

  1. Remote State - Chat Open in a Room (during a call):
  • Design the UI for the chat component when it is open in a room during a remote meetup/call.
  • Consider the layout, styling, and positioning of chat messages, input field, send button, and any additional functionality required.
  • Ensure that the UI provides a seamless experience for users to send and receive messages during the call.
  1. Remote State - Chat Closed in a Room (during a call):
  • Design the UI for the chat component when it is closed in a room during a remote meetup/call.
  • Determine the appropriate visual representation or icon for the closed chat state.
  • Consider any necessary interactions or UI elements to indicate that the chat is closed but can be reopened if needed.
  1. In-person State - Chat Open:
  • Design the UI for the chat component when it is open during an in-person meetup.
  • Take into account the layout, styling, and positioning of chat messages, input field, send button, and any additional functionality required.
  • Ensure that the UI provides a user-friendly interface for participants to send and receive messages in an in-person setting.
Please provide design mockups or wireframes for each chat state, including any relevant annotations or notes to guide the implementation.
  • Keep in mind that chances are the person is going to use their phone.
