Steps to reproduce

This issue involves resuming the app. If you're just using it actively, there is no issue. The network connection is present, the app is working.

What seems to happen with this content that is served through an extension is that if the device is put to sleep when the app is in the foreground and then resumed later, it will show "Source not available" and dump you back into the chapter listing.. tapping on the chapter you were last in, it'll resume where you last left off correctly.

Battery optimization is turned off for Mihon.

Wondering if battery optimization needs to be turned off for the extensions too? In theory if Mihon is awake when resuming it should just wake up the extension automatically without requiring the user to manually tap a chapter to wake up the extension.

Expected behavior

"Source not available" should not display at all.

Actual behavior

Sometimes it will display "Source not available" and dumps you back to the chapter list if you turn the device back on after having turned it off for awhile with the app in the foreground displaying content, or switching to a different app for a long while then switching back to Mihon.

I can confirm this. Extensions manager failed to load extensions in time and making app think extensions is not installed. This happens everywhere involves checking extensions:

  • The source name in manga info box saying "Source not installed"
  • Source browing screen senting back to Source list screen
  • Reader screen
    ...

This time it crashed right in the middle of reading. I don't know if it's the same issue, or a different issue. I have edited my first post to add the crash log in case it is the same and just happened to be recorded because the main app was active.

unrelated, likely an issue when source updates chapter list (and removed some) during the reading

Thanks for confirming it is unrelated. I like the guess, but I think the crash log for that one doesn't line up because the last time it was updated was 2018.

No matter. Primary issue remains, the intermittent "Source not installed" when it is present.
