A new, less strict smart update setting for entries that have their latest chapter unread, as opposed to any unread chapter. This would allow updating for series' where you haven't read every chapter, but you are caught up to the latest one.
Two scenarios where this would come up: Reading the manga from where an anime season ended, and jumping onto a comic book when the creative team changes in an already running series. Currently, if you were caught up either of these but didn't mark all chapters as read, they would be skipped by the current smart update setting. A new less strict option could prevent this.

I have searched the existing issues and this is a new ticket, NOT a duplicate or related to another open or closed issue.
Idea: Mark the chapter(s) where the anime ended / team changed with a bookmark so you can easily find them later if you decide to backtrack to it, then can just mark everything below your "caught-up" as read
As someone who sorts by last read, I would actually suggest a smart update where it filters by last X read, such as updating last 10 read, etc. I only updates those that are fully read and for those that have unread chapters, I have to manually update those. Creating a new category only for "currently reading" is an option but I add new things to read all the time and I don't get the time to read them, creating a backlog.
