Autosubscription of calendars #232

I am one of those people who would like this! I firmly believe in user freedoms, but I think this one would really help schools and businesses keep users on track much easier, and if the user opts out (rather than opts in, as it is now) then they've decided to be left out rather than having to volunteer to be included. |
I think this makes sense as well. There's potentially a lot of syncing that would have to happen all at once so it's tricky, but I'm going to put it on the list for future investigation. Thanks for the request @anotherpetephillips @gunnar-restorff! |
I understand i'm commenting on a long silent thread, but after setting up the 365 integration for our next academic year, with the view to have every user solely authenticating via 365, i've come to notice this issue myself. |
@cbrherms We don't have this scheduled at the moment but I will make note of another request for this. Thanks! |
Hello @jamesmcq , pleae any updates about this request? |
@ahmadm42 , James doesn't support anymore this plugin, we are reviewing all pending cases and so far we are focusing in the bug fixes and upgrade to Moodle 3.8. |
@nenorojas , Thanks a lot. Looking forward to get those update which will Office 365 & Moodle more powerful and more productive for my schools' management. |
Would the bot be able to do some of this transport? We would love to have this feature available as it would make sense. If not, is there a table update that we can run an scheduled task update query against that would automatically do this for each student? |
@weilai-irl, :( No updates till now. |
Hello, |
Hello @weilai-irl |
We're also super interested in getting the auto-sync implemented as we implement 365 on our campus. |
Good evening @nenorojas, I am aware that this is a silent thread. However I would also like to throw my support behind this ticket. Agree with previous comments that an opt-out strategy would be more beneficial than opt-in. Any progress possibly on this ticket? If there is any work that I can assist with, would be happy to take a try at it. |
Any update on this? We are transitioning to a full azure sync system and to have to ask all of our students to go and assign their own calendars is something they may not do or just be another complication. Thanks, |
At our university, we use Office 365 integration, and one great thing is the ability to sync events into the Office 365 calendar. But we have to advice each individual student to 1) activate this by ticking off "Enable Outlook Calendar Sync", 2) After that, go in to "Outlook Calendar sync settings" and tick of all courses, 3) Every time they get enrolled in a new course, they have to go to "Outlook Calendar sync settings" and tick of the new courses.
So out question is, is it possible somehow to autosubscribe everybody to the courses they are enrolled in?
If so, I'd love to know how! If not, I'd suggest to add this feature. E.g. by
I know that other people also have been asking for something similar.
