Possibly a broken version string:

      File "/home/maye/miniconda3/envs/py37/lib/python3.7/site-packages/pkg_resources/__init__.py", line 2825, in __getattr__                                                                           
        raise AttributeError(attr)                                                                  
    AttributeError: _version

or I was using versioneer and it didnt set up correctly.
recommend switching to bump2version like in other projects.
