Copy and paste in tmux

Copy

  1. Enter copy mode by pressing Ctrl + b, then [.
  2. Move to start/end of text to copy.
  3. After pressing Space, start highlighting the text.
  4. Move to opposite end of text to copy.
  5. Copy seleceted text into tmux clipboard by pressing Enter.

Paste

  1. Put the cursor where you want to paste the copied text.
  2. Enter insert mode by pressing i, a or o.
  3. Paste the text by pressing Ctrl + b, then ].
