tnt command doesn't make player take damage

for some reason when i use the command "/summon tnt" during a recording, and i play the recording with me in survival, i don't take any damage. i've also lit tnt next to the same spot and i took damage from that but not from the record itself (the records morph i used was an empty morph, and no effects were used)
