I have an issue that I was hoping you would be able to help me with.
Below is a description of the issue I faced with de-obfuscating scoredata.bin files of the latest versions of Clone Hero.
Unable to generate bytes of newer scoredata.bin files
Currently, giving scoredata.bin and/or songcache.bin files from Clone Hero causes the program to give an error. Sometimes I succeed to read the bin file, however the result is corrupted and only shows 1 song entry with many score types and a corrupted name.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:
Open CloneHeroSaveGameEditor.exe
Click on 'Select File'
Find your scoredata.bin located within your C:\Users[insertusername]\AppData\LocalLow\srylain Inc_\Clone Hero directory.
Press 'Read'
See console log below: Reading: C:\Users\[insertusername]\AppData\LocalLow\srylain Inc_\Clone Hero\scoredata.bin \n Finished reading: C:\Users\[insertusername]\AppData\LocalLow\srylain Inc_\Clone Hero\scoredata.bin \n Generating bytes \n Bytes generated \n Error, the scores file is not compatible with the program, will cause data loss or worse, not loading. Please contact the developer to resolve this mismatch.
Desktop & Version
OS version: Windows 11 (OS Build 22631.3880)
Using the alpha release 4 version. Extracted the files and ran the .exe
I am looking forward to hearing whether this project is still in development and whether bug fixing will still happen in the future!
Best regards,
