Matrix of the squares

I want to split the full soil union to the smaller squares. Now I download soil with the polygon with 1x1 size. I want to split it into smaller parts. Maybe to 0.25x0.25. Should I start matrix from the left bottom corner? Or maybe use the even coordinates, for example, -9, -9.25, -9.5, -9.75, -10 instead of -9.111220003, -9.361220003, etc.
