As found in ssgo detect usage of assets in src attributes etc and copy them across to the correct path in the output. This will allow authoring, especially markdown content with tools that can show rendered previews with assets in the .dsg/html folder while then dsg will then replace the paths in the generated site content to point to the correct folder in the generated site.
