I'm not sure if this is the right place to raise this, so sorry if not.
Currently, the ubuntu package of libdigitizer at http://downloads.makerbot.com/makerware/ubuntu for xenial depends on libvtk5-dev. Is there some reason this library depends on the -dev package and not the binary package that goes with it?
It is not possible to install both libvtk5-dev and libvtk6-dev at the same time. This means, for instance, that it's not possible to both install Makerware and build the HEAD version of FreeCAD without switching back and forth between the library versions, uninstalling Makerware each time.
