Rewrite in Rust

Description of feature.

This isn't something that will likely happen anytime soon, but it'd be nice if this project could be rewritten in Rust. Doing so would allow shipping the project as just a few (or maybe even just one) executable, thus making it much easier to distribute the project.

Doing so would also help me to get some more experience in Rust, as well as some frameworks and libraries in the Rust ecosystem.
