No cyrillic characters in dwm and st using yash

Simple as that. Can't type in russian letters in st and dwm doesn't display cyrillic characters in top bar. I'm running dwm from TTY with startx. When default shell is bash there is no such problem. Is it a bug or do I have to configure something at first?

This is a complete guess, but it may be that terminfo for your terminal does not have the correct flags. How about setting the le-no-conv-meta option?

set --le-no-conv-meta

The command should take effect immediately for the current shell session.
If you want to set the option for every invocation of the shell, you can put it in your .yashrc.
