There currently is no way to get a Pin instance from the GPIO state back to the unused state. This means that a pin that is being used for GPIO can't be used for anything else after.
As I currently don't need this feature, I'm setting the priority to low. If you need this, please post a comment here. I'm happy to adjust the priority, if there's demand.
