Hi Florian,
for some days I'm seeing a strange menu, where tab names are duplicated many times:

Is it a bug?

Chrome: 129.0.6668.101
Your extension: 0.0.20

Thanks

That looks... interesting.

Having a first look at this, I'd guess you're using the "Save group" feature, which will make tab groups appear in the bookmark bar. So these are probably all your tab groups from... somewhere? Different devices? Looks like a lot of groups to me to just be from other devices.

But in general, those tab groups should dissolve as soon as all tabs inside are closed. Also, they should not stem from the extension, Chrome itself collects saved tab groups there.

What's inside those groups? (You should see it if you click on them.)

Thanks for the immediate answer.
Yes, when I close all the tabs they disappear, but I don't know why they aren't grouped.
I didn't use different devices.

Thanks for the suggestion of Chrome setting: I removed those

So there appeared an item for each tab in the tab group, instead one for each group? That would be very weird indeed.

I mean, Chrome does assign random, non-persistent IDs to tab groups when they are created (that's why the extension needs to recognize existing tab groups by their color + name). But if the tabs all were correctly assigned to the same group, I don't see how they could have had different IDs. 🤷‍♂️
