Distribution
Linux Mint 22.3,
Package version
Cinnamon 6.6.7
Graphics hardware in use
NVIDIA RTX 4060
Frequency
Quite often
Bug description
Linux Mint 22.3, Cinnamon 6.6.7, X11, NVIDIA RTX 4060 with nvidia-driver-595-open. Occasionally the desktop wallpaper is rendered as a low-resolution center crop while the desktop resolution remains correct (3840×1200). The incorrect rendering persists across logins and reboots until the wallpaper's picture-options setting is changed (e.g. Zoom → Scaled → Zoom), which immediately redraws the wallpaper correctly. Default Mint wallpapers are affected, and the cached wallpaper is correctly generated at 3840×1200.
Steps to reproduce
The problem can occur after:
- logging in
- unlocking after the screen locks
- rebooting (if the wallpaper is already in the incorrect state)
Expected behavior
Desktop background should be scaled correctly.
Additional information
No response
