👋 Hello lifechurch!

Signing in with properly formatted credentials throws an error the console rather than some human-consumable output in the UI.

Steps to reproduce

Actual Behavior

Unchecked runtime.lastError: The message port closed before a response was received.

Expected Behavior

The UI should display a message indicating "Incorrect username or password." (or similar).
