The readme links to this page: Create a client ID and client secret.

Which takes you to a page: The AdWords API is no longer available. Use the Google Ads API instead.

for anyone who comes across this, a blocker i found was that i hadn't added my email address to the test users In the oauth consent section in google cloud console.
