title: Introducing Lens Network
description: Exciting news about the Lens Network
author: Lens Core Team
status: Draft
type: Network And Protocol
created: 2024-05-14

Today, Lens team announced the development of Lens Network, a scalable and robust blockchain-based network designed to support next-generation social experiences. Built on the ZK Stack and powered by zkSync on Ethereum, Lens Network is designed to overcome blockchain's scaling limitations. This breakthrough in scalability delivers an experience on par with traditional social networks while maintaining the benefits of Web3: user ownership, portability, choice, and secure transactions.

This thread is intended to capture discussions about the Lens network, and receive your feedback. The social network of the future can only be built successfully if all stakeholders, including builders and users, are in open dialogue.

Switching to the zksync network was a wise decision. ZK is endgame

Users and Network activities, things like DAU, posts volume etc. are the most important. Don't ignore attracting users, while at the same time realizing this technical framework.

I'm quite excited about these updates and wish you successful building. It's great to see that you plan to use the zkSync Stack for building the Lens Network. Could you share which Data Availability / DA providers you plan to use as a DA layer to ensure the security of public state data? Thank you!

This is good news for scalability of Lens through account abstraction and easier login for new users and cheaper transactions. Would be good to have protocol fees working from scratch and clear policies on current content and access. A grant program for migration and preparation for apps would be wise too. What api changes can we expect? A bit more coordination upfront would have been nice for tokens and apps. We have a product hunt today for Orna and are raising money so this comes at a surprise.

very interesting, join zksync, join many ecosystems, join a very wide community. I believe that Lens is increasingly becoming a choice and at the forefront, especially in the Web3 field

Excellent news to scale Lens. It needs to grow beyond Polygon.

I wonder, will the new lens network also be used on the current hey app?
