especially for binapps the list starts off rather messy on my system because i've got binaries beginning with a . in PATH.

i think it'd be nice to start with an empty result list and start showing results after the first input.

Doesn't seem very intuitive behavior imo. How to distinguish this case from "there's no items" (e.g for binapps no binaries)?
