If a client is existing, there seems to be no easy way to schedule follow-up calls with them. There is no way to select an organisation and/or a person and then schedule a call (unless I am missing something).
The only way seems to be to set up a pipeline activity (adding them as a lead), which is not really about customer service and is all about sales. I know they are related but all I want my people to do is make sure they are calling their existing clients regularly and I keep getting them pushing back and using their calendars because they say it takes too long to simply schedule a call.
I also think that by separating usual customer service update calls from sales calls (lead activity) will make it easier to see on the dashboard those activities which are pure sales versus those which are merely maintaining existing client contact. I have told my people that if a client comes back with a new potential piece of work, that should then become a lead but only at that point. Otherwise every client will end up in leads and the sales pipeline.
