Hi all,
We're getting the ready to make the first major infrastructure migration outlined in our January announcement: https://www.knowledgefutures.org/updates/2026-01-update.
From a user perspective, this should be largely invisible, except for a planned read-only window on Sunday, February 22, from 9:00pm-10:00pm ET (02:00-03:00 UTC on February 23).
In preparation for that, we're doing some house cleaning, such as moving the repo to
knowledgefutures/pubpub, cleaning up branches, closing outdated PRs, etc.Of note for our community, we'll be bulk-closing older Issues as “unplanned” to reduce a backlog that has accumulated over several years.
Our goal is to stay focused on what is currently relevant and needed by the community. At this point, it’s difficult to distinguish between Issues that are still active problems and those that were fixed, worked around, or no longer matter to anyone. We’re operating with reduced capacity and want to be responsive, but to do that we need to work from a clearer and current picture of priorities.
If you’re still affected by an Issue, please reopen it (or open a new one). We’ll tag all bulk-closed items with 2026-02-cleanup for transparency.
Going forward, we intend to respond more quickly (including marking items as not feasible when appropriate), and to more actively invite community contributions where possible.
Thanks all!
