It probably doesn't unless it has an ICA bridge (not sure if http://www.ellert.se/twain-sane/ has something like this). You might be able to use the sane command line tools to access it instead. |
Just came across this bridge: http://janegil.net/2014/01/twain-scanners-in-os-x-maverick/ - does it work? |
That says it doesn't work on El Capitan, and I am not disabling SIP. Maybe we could start a list of scanners that do work natively? Some type of criteria for new buyers? |
I'm also not seeing my scanner using -list. |
@jmdconsulting Is there a Mac driver for that scanner? I don't see one on Fujitsu's site, but I actually don't see any drivers for that printer. Is it network only? If it shows up as a scan source in Preview.app, scanline should be able to see it too. Let me know if you see it in Preview. |
I tried your test and no… it’s not showing up in Preview.
I have been using DocKeep but the software isn’t supported anymore. I installed and purchased VueScan and that works as well.
I’m just researching scanning software and came across scanline and wanted to see what it can do for me.
I should mention that I build software for a living and my customers need scanning solutions so I try to stay current on the offerings.
Our main concern today is something that is able to respond to a call from a Filemaker database and scanline seemed to tick many of the boxes… but then I couldn’t get it to see my scanner - and here we are.
I appreciate your reply!

I see. Thanks for following up! |
Re: the original topic, @klep what scanner do you use? Can we start compiling a list of scanners that work natively on macOS without crazy drivers? |
I assume that the devices I see on my “Import from Scanner…” option in Preview would work. And that shows me some good stuff… the network attached HP officejet devices are certainly nice choices, but the auto-feeder duplex mega scanner on my desk would be a better fit. (we have several of the 8600 line of color inkjet printer-scanner-fax devices)
hope that helps

My scanner (P-215) uses TWAIN, which Apple stopped supporting in 10.9, so I'm stuck using Canon's CaptureOnTouch app. Any idea how I could find a scanner that works with 10.11 (and this tool) natively?
