problems with subscribe to changes

hey guys, i could not get the subscribe method running. i wanna subscribe to changes when heart rate is changing. but it does not listen in background and call the callback function i defined. do i need to specify something in xcode? does somebody have experience with that and so some example? Would appreciate some help! Big thanks already!
