Install Omada Controller on Ubuntu 22.04

Previously posted a guide for installing Omada Controller on Ubuntu 20.04. Received log of requests for guide on 22.04. It’s not simply straight forward as Omada Still using old dependencies and might break some package if incorrectly installed. Reason I’m writing this here is official guides and documentation are outdated and refusing to fix them.

Thank you so much for this blog post, it got me 99% of the way home. I was struggling to figure out the best way to get mongodb 4.4 onto my machine when I stumbled across this.

There was one snag, however, which was that - upon startup - I got this error: Starting Omada Controller. Please wait.Cannot find any VM in Java Home. That stumped me for a bit until I found JARVIS's blog on fixing it.

In case that site ever goes away, I'll summarize the solution here (since I also linked to the original source):

sudo mkdir /usr/lib/jvm/zulu17-ca-amd64/lib/amd64
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/jvm/zulu17-ca-amd64/lib/server /usr/lib/jvm/zulu17-ca-amd64/lib/amd64/

Of course, replace zulu17-ca-amd64 with whatever Java you've got installed. After that, start up the controller again with sudo tpeap start.
