Josh, have you checked out n98-magerun It's a great utility for Magento 1.X development. I've been working with @PhearZero to incorporate it into our work at @Comit-Developers.

If we added composer, we could use it to bootstrap the basic install and add magerun to the core you've already got here.

Mike's got n98-magerun.phar wrapped in ShellJS which allows us to use anything from magerun in the Grunt tasks. With https://www.npmjs.com/package/grunt-source we can share them around with the projects.

We're finishing up some internal testing for the project it was developed for but are getting ready to release it and thought we might combine efforts. Should we break the magerun addition out into a separate issue to work on after composer support is added?
