Date input not working on mobile devices

Since a recent update, the date input is not working anymore on mobile devices (and very narrow browser windows): When trying to select a month or year, the sidebar will collapse.

The cause of the problem is not known right now, but it originates definitely upstream, as a minimal working example shows the same behavior.
