Alt+Tab or "keep pressing" mod keys

There is no way to send an Alt+Tab key sequence to the client?
One way this is solved in some software, vnc for example, is to "check" alt as presses and this keeps pressing that key until unmarked again, same fort Ctrl and other modifier keys.

Different keyboard layouts are also needed, one way to solve this would be to have keyboards being user modifiable.
