Subtitles delay or offset when subtitles are out of sync with audio?

I've seen two issues related to this:

Both of which are saying that subtitle sync is currently not supported and does not sound like it is (yet) planned.

I've seen it was recently added to the jellyfin-web player:
jellyfin/jellyfin-web#220

Are there any other fixes for this somehow via web-player or even manually adjusting files? Maybe some workarounds to make a slightly off subtitles work for jellyfin-androidtv?
