[IMPORTANT] AMD Driver Compatibility #392
Comments
Update: latest AMD compatible driver is |
Same here, screen tearing that makes it unusable with 24.7.1. Thanks for confirming. |
Confirmed as well on 24.7.1 and the more recent 24.8.1. After downgrading to 24.31 it works. I downloaded AMD Cleanup Utility and booted into safe mode just in case. Then booted back in normal and installed drivers then ran the GPU Update-VMGpuPartitionDriver.ps1 script. AMD Cleanup Utility AMD 24.31 Drivers |
Thanks for the info, very appreciated! |
FYI, here's the official link for the driver: |
Thanks a lot, now works perfectly on a 7900XTX 🎉 |
Same issue here with 7900 XT. GPU acceleration in games was indeed working for me, but both parsec and sunshine failed at HW encoding video stream which made performance sub-par anyways. Form Sunshine log: Error: [h264_amf @ 0000015a69948d40] CreateComponent(AMFVideoEncoderVCE_AVC) failed with error 11 Many thanks for instructions in #392 (comment) |
I just had windows update automatically updating my AMD driver (RX 6750 XT) and noticed today that parsec display stopped working I downgraded my drivers following your instructions and everything works smoothly now, thanks a lot |
can confirm this issue persists on 24.10.1 - downgrading back to 24.3.1 helped |
Thank you |
Just my 2 cents: please use the AMD Adrenaline's bug reporting function to report this issue to AMD. The bug reporting tool is in Settings(Upper right gear icon) -> System(Default tab) -> Issue Reporting(Lower left) |
Agreed. The more we report, the faster they fix this issue! |
This seems to be fixed with 24.12.1. Someone else may want to confirm this. |
Working fine here as well. 6800 XT on 24.12.1 |
dropped back to 24.3.1. Although the 24.12.1 hardware encoding is normal, there are problems with the game. For example, Minecraft opens with a white screen, and vulank and dx 12 cannot be used. These are normal in 24.3.1. |
Hello, if you have an AMD card and is currently experiencing issues when connecting to the VM with Parsec (black screen, no video, glitched video, etc), downgrade your AMD drivers to 24.3.1 (March 20). Newer drivers aren't compatible. Currently I'm running Windows 11 24H2 on both host and VM with 24.3.1 AMD drivers on both. I'll try to update the drivers on the host while maintaining the old drivers on the VM and report back.
