splot always asks for "Image line/aperture to plot"

I set the splot line parameter to 1 making use of eparam. I put the splot mode to h. It seems impossible to avoid splot asking to encode or confirm the Image line/aperture to plot. Because splot is part of onedspec package I set also the mode of onedspec to h, and the same for noao being the package containing onedspec. Nothing helps. I get the same behaviour for apall I want really to run silently in a python script. Can someone give me a hint please how to solve this problems? Thanks in advance. Stefan
