Extension request enhancement

Problem: Extension request requires manual protocol instead of full self-service.
In the context of Issue #269, currently the Extension request gives a message "Contact Library" in the event it cannot extend it automatically (based on some internal policy of course).

Describe the solution you'd like

Instead, why not make the "contact library" process similar to the self-service LoanRequest process. It seems it can be handled as part of the same workflow as a Loan Renew/Extend request that goes into the Loan Request queue and the librarian can evaluate/prioritize/approve/cancel it.

I am sorry for the late answer. The creation of an extension request workflow was evaluated and brainstormed but discarded because we did not have capacity and time to implement it.
Such implementation will require to make it configurable to allow the scenario that you are describing but also the scenario that is currently implemented.
We currently cannot implement it because we have other more urgent priorities. If you are planning, maybe, to add such functionalities, do not hesitate to contact us to align on a possible solution.
