Tablet that works with miracast on 32 bit arm doesn't work on 64 bit arm

I have a Samsung tablet that successfully works with libwds miracast on a 32 bit arm processor (Tegra K1) that doesn't work on a 64 bit arm processor (Tegra X1). I also have a Samsung phone that works with libwds miracast on both the TK1 and the TX1.

I can see what look like normal messages when the connection is started where connman and wpa_supplicant report connecting to p2p-wlan0 and so on, but eventually I see a P2P-GROUP-FORMATION-ERROR. This failure occurs after a wait of about 15 seconds. Obviously, when I use the Samsung phone, I see a P2P-GROUP-FORMATION-SUCCESS.
