Sorry it took me a while to work this out.

I think the initial set up for this namespace was only for the SESAR² agent while igsn include many more agents. Since the set up was compatible with other agents, I just adjusted the namespace a bit to reflect the more generic scope.

However I couldn't find if all agents follow the same ID pattern, so I can't be sure if the current pattern is valid for all. Also, the recommended way to reference IGSNs is through DOI or using the DOI prefix that is associated to the agent of the IGSN as described here.

If one wishes to use identifiers.org it can use the igsn or the doi namespace, for example:
