tl;dr We only own ilspy.net and the respective .com domain. The org domain is AI slop that is at the time of writing laced with malware.

Given the current reporting on the Web (again at time of writing this), the Infosec community is clearly failing the basics of infosec. Not only did they post publically without research who owns the domain (but attributed it to us), but also nobody tried to get in touch with us, the supposed hacked party. Go figure.

Yes, but there are prominent "security researcher" accounts on X and other platforms that attribute the domain to us, albeit indirectly, by calling the hacked WordPress site the "ILSpy WordPress site". And there are cyber security "news outlets" that boost this fake information, calling it "official ILSpy WordPress domain".

@miloush Besides, it is not that "independent" as claimed as its links are quietly promoting its own products and services.

I think that site already brings enough harms, so it is important to open this issue and raise awareness from ILSpy user base.

I read "independent" as "not controlled by ILSpy", pointing out the "researchers" and "journalists" are not doing due diligence. No objections on raising awareness.

Go figure, they probably used some AI Agents to write their articles.

"Security researcher" nowadays means nothing, probably got their qualifications from ChatGPT.

It does baffle me how literally, anyone, with half a brain cell can go and get a job in "cybersecurity" without even knowing anything about computers or how they work at all.
