I often have to change the time that I switch themes as the days get shorter in the winter. Would it be possible to have an option to set times relative to sunrise/sunset? There seem to be some libraries to calculate it in Java:

It's why we have this icon in the bottom menu (#3):

obraz

It's hard to fit our preferences to the specified time, so it seems to be the best solution.

Hello, @thomasj02. Thanks for your feedback about plugin. At the start of work I have such thoughts about switching IDE appearance according to sunset/sunrise. But is it not obvious for me what user wants to have. There is 2 possibilities:

  • user provides GPS coordinates (not so friendly for user)
  • we should provide some search field where user can type its place and then retrieve coordinates from it (but for such functionality we need Internet connection and handle somehow problems related to external service and Internet outages)

May be it is good idea to implement it, since u are interested in that feature (may be someone else also :))

Well, it is straightforward for everyone to navigate to any website like https://www.latlong.net, pin the point, find coordinates, and copy-paste (for example: (40.453914, -3.692827)) to the form in your plugin. It needs to be done only once. Least users flies every day and need to change it. Agree?
f.lux - check how they made it: https://justgetflux.com. I'm sure there is no need to make the same here, to preserve precious time.

Thanks for your suggestion and interest. I will check it, and maybe will implement it during the next week.
