Bounding box searches don't work as expected

When searching by bounding box the the coverage_type argument doesn't seem to be working. When I specify coverage_type='box' I get resources with coverage_type == 'point' and vice versa.

Also, no matter what I specify as the bounding box I always get resource 0cb834d7635943e98d770e9df0c522fe which doesn't have any coverages, so I'm not sure why it's being returned in any bounding box query.
