out of the box installing testing for stacks contracts produces error when running tests

I followed all the steps mentioned in https://docs.hiro.so/stacks/clarinet-js-sdk/guides/unit-testing.
Including npm run test.
But this produces an error:

I'm a bit surprised about that as I would think that anyone who tries the same will probably get the the same result or should I have a certain version of node or npm installed?

Thanks for reporting, yes this is an issue introduced in clarinet-sdk 2.13.0 where we don't support Node.js < 22.12

I didn't catch that before the release, but I'm working on a fix the should hopefully ship today ([email protected]).

In the meantime, you can upgrade your node version to the latest LTS version (22.14.0 - I recommend using nvm or volta for version management). Or fix the clarinet-sdk dependency in your package.json to 2.12.0.
