qwerty target with encoder direction

An idea. Similar to the mouse target i guess? Sorry if this is already possible and I missed it.

The ability to target a pair of qwerty key presses and assign each to a different direction of encoder travel. For example, arrow up to right turn, arrow down to left turn.

This could, in the example mentioned, be used to surf patches with an encoder, where the plug in responds to the arrow keys (eg Arturia Analog Lab).
