Ok. I finally figured it out and it turns out it wasn't the installation of AGH or the router. It was me.
I was too impatient and not aware of how DNS functions.

  1. I expected results right away (because I saw DNS requests come in immediately), but didn't give the clients time to change their DNS servers.
  2. I thought that if the clients DNS was the router and the routers DNS server was AGH, DNS requests would be redirected to AGH but that it is not the case.

So now, after updating the clients DNS server, websites and services are indeed unavailable if I block them
