Chapter 12 - On-Device Learning

  • One of the things we thought of while reading this chapter was that it would be helpful to have some note-taking functionality on the website. If readers could highlight on the site or make comments, we wouldn't need to download PDFs to take notes externally. This would solve a lot of formatting problems we encounter once transferring to PDF format.
  • This chapter echoes a lot of the information from Chapter 2. Perhaps cut down Chapter 2 and put this chapter afterwards? I have highlighted within the PDF attachment below specific areas that feel repetitive.
  • Figure 12.2 has already been used in the textbook.
  • The bullet point format used in this chapter was fantastic!
  • Video 12.2 had a playback error when we clicked on it.
  • We didn't really understand Figure 12.6--I would either cut or replace this image.
  • We wished there was a bit more explanation on IID in 12.5.5 Handling non-IID Data.
