Fix parquet functionality #307

As revealed in #303, the parquet scripts are broken:

samples = read_chains('./tests/example_data/pc')
samples.to_parquet('pc.parquet')
pd.read_parquet('pc.parquet') #fails with KeyError 'weights'

We should fix this, and introduce tests as we currently do for hdf5 so that any errors which emerge are re-caught
