[0.1.22] - 2026-10-12
Google Antigravity Python SDK v0.1.22 introduces beta support for dynamic workflow orchestration, in-memory skill definitions, and configurable per-step output token limits for extended model decodes. This release also standardizes subagent invocation naming on
BuiltinTools.INVOKE_SUBAGENTand provides fine-grained controls over MCP tool payload limits and eager tool registration.🌟 Key Highlights
Dynamic Workflow Orchestration (
beta.workflows): Author and execute multi-step agent workflows with typed workflow primitives (phase, log, agent, parallel, pipeline), the@beta.workflows.definedecorator, andagent.beta.run_workflow().In-Memory Skills (
InlineSkill): Define and register in-memory skills directly on agent configurations usingInlineSkill, eliminating the requirement for disk-based skill files.Configurable Output Token Limits (
GeminiModelOptions): Configure per-step output generation limits viamax_output_tokensinGeminiModelOptionsto support long decodes exceeding 64k tokens.Canonical Subagent Tool Naming (
BuiltinTools.INVOKE_SUBAGENT): Standardize subagent invocation aroundBuiltinTools.INVOKE_SUBAGENT, deprecatingBuiltinTools.START_SUBAGENTwhile retaining automatic coercion and dictionary lookup compatibility.Configurable MCP Output Byte Limits (
CapabilitiesConfig): Configure byte thresholds for Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool responses viamcp_max_output_bytesonCapabilitiesConfigto handle large payloads without truncation.Eager MCP Tool Loading (
force_all_tools_eager): Opt out of lazy tool-search loading to force all tools from an MCP server into the model's eager tool list.📋 Detailed Changes
Features & Enhancements
google.antigravity.beta.workflowsmodule with orchestration primitives (phase,log,agent,parallel,pipeline),@beta.workflows.definedecorator, AST script extraction, and theagent.beta.run_workflowentry point.InlineSkillat the root package level and added theinline_skillsparameter acrossAgentConfig,LocalAgentConfig,LiteRTAgentConfig, andLocalOpenAIAgentConfig. Passing bothskills_pathsandinline_skillssimultaneously is validated and rejected.SubagentConfig.model.SandboxStatustogoogle.antigravity.types.__all__to support direct imports fromtypes.__rsub__onUsageMetadatato allow reflected subtraction (such as0 - usageto negate counts) and subtraction between metadata instances.call_idacross tool hooks (pre_tool,post_tool,on_tool_error) and tool call steps to enable unambiguous correlation between hooks and tool executions.Model & Default Changes
BuiltinTools.RUN_WORKFLOWis now enabled by default alongside subagent tools so agents can run dynamic workflows out of the box. To disable it, passdisabled_tools=[BuiltinTools.RUN_WORKFLOW]inLocalAgentConfig.max_output_tokenstoGeminiModelOptions. Defaults to 65,536 tokens to maintain standard token budgets. To support decodes beyond 64k tokens, specifyGeminiModelOptions(max_output_tokens=<int>)onmodel_options.BuiltinTools.START_SUBAGENTwithBuiltinTools.INVOKE_SUBAGENTas the primary enum member. Supplying"start_subagent"emits aDeprecationWarningand coerces toINVOKE_SUBAGENT.force_all_tools_eagerto MCP server configs. Defaults toFalseto conserve context tokens through lazy tool search. Setforce_all_tools_eager=Trueon an MCP server config to eagerly expose all its tools to the model.mcp_max_output_bytestoCapabilitiesConfig. Defaults toNone(preserving runtime defaults). Override by providing an integer in(0, 2147483647]viaCapabilitiesConfig(mcp_max_output_bytes=<int>).Bug Fixes
StepType.TEXT_RESPONSEwith empty tool calls, and failures returnedDONE; resolved by emittingToolCallsteps withStepType.TOOL_CALLand marking failures withStepStatus.ERROR..ToolContext(such asagy.ToolContext) failed AST parameter inspection; resolved by matching any attribute expression ending in.ToolContext.All reactions
