In some alignments, like, e.g., cogid 133, KUE language has subsequence "ue" where "u" clearly points to a labial glide, as can be seen from the alignment. I suggest to simply modify the alignment accordingly, matching the "u" vowel with the labial glides. Since there are not many different instances, this is best done manually.

that is just right. the problem with KUE is that the data is from Koch-Grünberg, a german anthropologist from more than a century ago. I preferred to leave it as it is in the orthographic form, but the alignment should be consistent with our glide interpretation

I agree with you: we should keep the original form of the data where
possible, without to much modifying it apart from applying segmentation
and the like.

BTW. This is the next task (not urgent, but we shouldn't forget it) for
me and for you:

  • I need to write some code that makes it possible to get the sources
    when browsing the DB
  • you need to provide the sources of each doculect

But, as I just said: it's NOT urgent, since this is something that we
only need once it is close-to-publication.
