I want to start sharing around the prototype I've built for pinning dependencies in workflows and managing their updates from the CLI. While having a great UX for managing them from the CLI is table stakes, keep in mind that we would lean on Dependabot to manage automation of updates.
Please give the tool a shot and share your feedback! Feel free to chat with me in Slack about this as well. Have a look at scenarios in the Policy UX issue here: cli/cli#13314 and try to use the tool to onboard some of your repos to pinned dependencies (not staffshipped, but would love to see draft PR of the changes).
Context
@Steve-Glass and I are working on getting a technical preview out to maintainers in the next few weeks. A broader set of eyes and internal feedback is 100% going to make the feedback that we get from OSS maintainers more useful.
