A way to erase text annotations made by the text tool

I cant seem to erase them off after I've selected the "x" button. Sometimes they are accompanying a drawover that I've already done so clearing the annotation is not an option.

You can erase a text annotation if you right click on the Text tool on the action tool bar. It will pop a requester were you can select any text annotation. Once you click on one, you will be back to editing it (adding or removing more text). If you remove all text you will see the text editor box have a red cross at its corner. If you click on it, if will erase the text annotation for good.
