Description:
The "GitHub MCP not active" message is displayed incorrectly while the MCP service is actually working.

Environment:

  • Cursor Version: 0.47.8
  • GitHub Copilot Extension Version: 1.270.1376
  • OS: macOS 24.3.0 (Darwin)
  • Architecture: arm64

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Cursor
  2. The "GitHub MCP not active" message appears
  3. However, Copilot suggestions are working correctly

Expected Behavior:
The MCP status should correctly reflect that the service is active since Copilot is functioning.

Additional Information:

  • GitHub authentication is working (confirmed by gh auth status)
  • Copilot suggestions are functioning
  • MCP service is responding (can connect to mcp.github.dev)
